Everyone who follows me knows I am down with animal rights, but this is fucking hilarious hahaha, this set of pictures gets taken completely out of context so often.
I wish I could find the article I read a while back that had the full image set, but the information it contains pointed out thatthis bird is not mourning the loss of his beloved, he’s taking advantage of the fallen swallow’s injuries in order to fuck its corpse. In fact, based on the differing markings on the living birds throughout the photo set, SEVERAL male swallows took their chances with the poor thing only to figure out post-coitus that it was dead.
